Team Malizia celebrates a remarkable result from two familiar faces: Francesca Clapcich and Will Harris, who raced together as part of our Malizia crew this summer, have taken second place in the IMOCA Class of the Transat Café L’OR. Competing onboard 11th Hour Racing, our former Malizia - Seaexplorer, this was Francesca’s first race as skipper of her own IMOCA campaign, marking a significant milestone in her journey, and Will’s third participation in the event. Carrying forward the spirit of teamwork, determination, and purpose, the duo delivered an outstanding performance and secured one of the best non-French results in recent IMOCA history.

This Sunday 26 October, Team Malizia’s long-time co-skipper Will Harris set sail on his third Transat Café L’OR (formerly the Transat Jacques Vabre), racing from Le Havre, France, to Martinique. This time, he is racing alongside skipper Francesca Clapcich on a boat he knows by heart: our former Malizia - Seaexplorer, now handed over to Francesca’s team and rebranded as 11th Hour Racing. It’s Francesca’s first participation in the race, and her debut as skipper of her own IMOCA campaign. Together, the pair have kicked off the Transat Café L’OR 2025 with a powerful performance .After a stormy first night in the English Channel, they are holding strong in the leading group of the IMOCA fleet. With fierce winds, fast foiling, and flawless teamwork, Will and Francesca are showing the determination and skills as a perfectly tuned duo.

After a busy summer of racing across Europe, Team Malizia is shifting gears towards new adventures on land and at sea. Malizia - Seaexplorer has now been handed over to Team Francesca Clapcich Powered by 11th Hour Racing, while work continues on the construction of Malizia 4, our next-generation IMOCA, and preparations ramp up for the Malizia Explorer’s first Antarctic mission. After five legs, over 4,500 nautical miles, and six weeks of intense offshore racing, The Ocean Race Europe 2025 concluded today in Boka Bay, Montenegro. Team Malizia delivered a strong performance in the Final Coastal Race, climbing the overall leaderboard to finish fourth. With a perfect start and clean sailing, the crew around skipper Boris Herrmann closed this year’s main IMOCA race and their campaign with their Malizia - Seaexplorer boat on a high, ready to look forward to the next chapter in 2026 with a brand-new IMOCA yacht and exciting races on the horizon.

After a tight battle for the podium on the fifth and final stage of The Ocean Race Europe 2025, Team Malizia crossed the finish line in Boka Bay, Montenegro, last night to claim third place and five points. Having departed from Genova, Italy, just over seven days ago, the crew navigated a demanding Mediterranean course of coastlines and capes, testing new watch systems and strategies while remaining firmly in the leading pack until the very end. With one Final Coastal Race remaining, fourth place overall is still within reach, leaving Team Malizia determined to fight to the very last mile.

The final leg of The Ocean Race Europe 2025 is reaching its climax as the fleet enters the Adriatic Sea for the very first time. With just a few miles separating the top five IMOCAs, the battle to Boka Bay, Montenegro, is tighter than ever. Team Malizia, Biotherm, Holcim–PRB, Paprec Arkéa, and Allagrande Mapei are pushing hard in tricky upwind conditions, with everything still to play for in the last 100 nautical miles.

Five IMOCA teams are locked in a straight-line sprint to Boka Bay, separated by just 21 nautical miles as The Ocean Race Europe 2025 enters its final days. With Biotherm in the lead, Team Malizia fights bow-to-bow with Paprec Arkéa, while Flore shares life onboard – from relentless trimming to making sure the crew has enough food until the finish.

Day 4 of Leg 5 in The Ocean Race Europe 2025 has brought brutal conditions in the Mediterranean. The fight for every mile is on, with less than ten miles separating the top four IMOCAs.

Boris Herrmann and his crew have embarked on the fifth and final leg of The Ocean Race Europe, departing Genova, Italy, this Sunday afternoon. Racing against six other boats to Boka Bay, Montenegro, the team faces approximately 1,600 nautical miles of tricky Mediterranean conditions. With a chance to climb up in the overall scoreboard, Team Malizia is aiming to finish strong and secure as many points as possible in the closing leg of their first Ocean Race Europe participation.

Mediterranean Showdown: Team Malizia Sets Sail on Final Leg of The Ocean Race Europe 2025

From the shore team’s tireless work on land to the crew’s relentless effort at sea, this episode shows the heart of Team Malizia during Leg 4 of The Ocean Race Europe.  The big positive from this leg, despite the setback, is that we kept our spirits high and really enjoyed the sailing. Even when it became clear we couldn’t catch the Canadians, we pushed the boat to the max, proof of our great team spirit.  We are a diverse mix of nationalities and cultures, and for Loïs and Cole this is their very first major IMOCA season. Everything is new and exciting, and yet no one loses motivation just because we’re further back. We fight to the very end, with full commitment.  Of course, slipping into sixth place was tough to swallow, but 24 hours later, the frustration is gone.
